The Nationals Youth Baseball Academy Photo Story

After 30-plus years of not having a Major League Baseball team, Washington D.C. welcomed the Nationals "Nats" in 2005. The Nats played their first three seasons at RFK Stadium before moving into Nationals Park, a state-of-the-art facility in the bustling Southwest neighborhood of Washington in 2008.

The Nationals pride themselves in helping the underserved communities of Washington, DC. Area. They provide healthy and economical vegetables in collaboration with the Capital Area Food Bank and many educational initiatives using baseball as a vehicle. The Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, through the generosity of the team's fans and corporate partners, the Dream Foundation, has provided many opportunities for the youth of the D.C. metro area. The Academy believes that all children can succeed when supported in every way. The Academy's work is guided by the cornerstones of youth development and the belief that every child can thrive as a weight tool for success and growth. The Academy's mentoring program uses baseball to teach Scholar-Athletes about problem-solving, teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and character development.
